Frequently Asked Questions
How Does this Work?
We offer both cooking classes and dinner experiences. Peruse our seasonal menus and then contact us to request a reservation with us and we will get back to you shortly to confirm your experience.
What is the difference between the dinner and cooking class?
The cooking class is a hands on experience for you and your guests. We will teach you techniques learned from the nation's top restaurants and explain the science behind the preparations. We keep the experience fun and educational.
The dinner experience is a catered meal in your home or chosen location. We will come with all the food prepared, ready for our finishing touches in your kitchen. With these dinners, we strive to give you a fine dining experience in a comfortable and relaxing setting of your choice.
What do I need in my home before Mise arrives?
On the day of the experience we will arrive to set up at least an hour before your guests arrive. We ask that you have at least 4 feet of cleared counter top for us to work on and a sink. Additionally, it is helpful if you can make a little room in your refrigerator for us. If not, we can always bring coolers and ice. We prefer that you have a 4 burner stove and oven, but if not available please let us know and we can bring induction burners.
What do you bring to my home?
We bring the pots & pans, plates, silverware, and napkins. We want to make it as easy and relaxing as possible for you to host your guests. We will set the table for you and clean up afterwards. The only job you have as host is to have fun!
What if I have dietary restrictions?
Most dietary restrictions are easily accommodated. We generally can modify any of the menus or experiences to suit your needs. Please let us know in the booking notes or contact us directly about your group's dietary restrictions.
WHO PROVIDES THE WINE?
Due to legal and permit reasons, we are unable to provide any wine or alcoholic beverages for your experience. However, our in-house sommelier provides suggested wine pairings prior to your dinner so you can shop for the wine. If you need additional assistance with your wine selections, please do not hesitate to send us an email or give us a call.
What if my home isn't big enough to host an experience?
Restaurant kitchens are notoriously tiny and crowded and years of working in this environment has trained us well! If size is a concern for you, please let us know and we are happy to discuss other options. For example, you might enjoy hosting your Mise experience out-of home. We have several wonderful places that we recommend in this instance, but you are welcome to find a space of your own too.
